The Problem

Nationwide, healthcare facilities are struggling with staffing issues (source). Care facilities are competing over a limited number of skilled graduates to help them continue providing quality care for their communities. This problem is not relegated to rural communities; large healthcare organizations in population centers are also struggling to fill critical roles. The Talent Acquisition department of a large healthcare organization (14,000 employees and locations in multiple cities/areas) enlisted Instructional Design to help with recruiting efforts for one target group: new graduates.

The Solution

Providing resources that teach new graduates how to showcase their knowledge and skills has multiple benefits:

  1. The new graduates have better job prospects,

  2. Recruiters have a clearer idea of what prospective employees are capable of and what on-the-job resources they might require, and

  3. New graduates will have a positive opinion of the organization due to the assistance they receive before they have even begun their employment.
